Duraj's Wood is a family business that has made luxury wooden floors for three generations. Over more than 50 years a home carpentry shop became a maker recognised at home and abroad. Everything is made by hand by a team of more than 20 experienced carpenters, and our work has found a home all over the world.
From choosing the log to the handmade finished product
Production begins with choosing a log, against very strict criteria tailored to each project. Out of respect and love for nature, we use only trees from certified, responsibly managed plantations. Less than 1% of the material available worldwide meets our requirements. The chosen log comes to our workshop, because the whole process takes place in one location. That way we can be sure the wood is worked with due care at every stage.
Respect for nature
Wood is the basis of everything we make and one of the most important raw materials in the world. We use only trees from certified, responsibly managed plantations. In such forests only the trees that hold others back, for example by cutting off their light, are felled. By buying wood from certified sources, such as those carrying the FSC® mark, we support the fight against deforestation.
Craft
We are craftsmen. Every piece is made by hand, so each project gets not only our heart but also the experience of three generations.
